Joachim has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart. He has conducted research into off-grid hybrid renewable energy systems with solar photovoltaics, wind turbines, batteries and Diesel engines at the Centre for Renewable Energy in Loughborough where he was awarded an MPhil. He gained an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School with a particular focus on Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Course Participants
Due to the relatively high capital costs of renewable energy plants, investors require long-term certainty about the plant’s ability to sell the power it generates.
This is usually achieved through a long-term power purchase agreement. Less than 5% of newly built power plants are not financed on the back of a power purchase agreement.
The workshop is based on many projects in different markets. The course is useful to those who want to have the opportunity to analyse and assess real-life power purchase agreements.
